Founder of Ramakrishna Math, Dhenkanal passes away

Founder and president, Ramakrishna Matha, Dhenkanal and well-known social worker Bhubanananda Dash passed away at his younger son’s residence at Shakti Sugar at 6.00 AM on 10th March.  He was 87 years old.

He was born at Sunakhandi village near Salepur, District Cuttack. After completing his studies, he started his career in telecom sector and he retired as Senior Telecom Engineer of Dhenkanal in 1991. He was very popular for his honesty and his amiable behaviour in his profession. After retirement, he was completely engaged in various welfare activities of Ramakrishna Math. The Ramakrishna Math in Dhenkanal was established only due to his untiring effort.

His mortal remains were consigned to flame at Puri Swargadwar.  He is survived by his wife, two sons and daughters-in-law, four daughters and sons-in- law. During the funeral, his elder son retired banker Satyaranjan Dash, younger son Engineer Manoranjan Dash, Sons-in-law Well known Businessman Bijoy Kumar Kar, Retired banker and educationist Harekrushna Praharaj, AVP of Utkal Alumina Abinash Panda and Director HR Indian Oil Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra were also present along with many other well-wishers.

The sad demise of Bhubanananda Dash leaves a huge void in Dhenkanal and Ramakrishna Math establishments in Odisha.
