Tata Steel BSL Taken a great initiatives For Local People.Dedicated Concrete Road For Villages.Tata Steel BSL, (formerly known as Bhushan Steel Limited), today dedicated a 5.3 km-long cement concrete road connecting NH-55 to 8 villages around its plant at Narendrapur in Dhenkanal district of Odisha.
Smt. Seemarani Nayak, MLA, Hindol formally inaugurated the newly built road in presence of Shri Rajeev Singhal, Managing Director, Tata Steel BSL, Shri Subodh Pandey, Chief Operating Officer, Tata Steel BSL, Shri Manikanta Naik, Chief, Corporate Services, other senior company officials, local PRI members and villagers.
Commending Tata Steel BSL for the initiative, Smt Nayak said, local villagers have been demanding for this all-weather road for a long time. It will be of immense help to them to reach NH-55, particularly during the rainy season she said.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Singhal thanked the community and local administration for their whole-hearted support to the project to complete it in record time and reaffirmed Tata Steel BSL’s commitment for inclusive growth of the region through many such-socio economic interventions. The company has envisaged a long-term strategy for this based on a comprehensive study conducted with the help from a professional agency, he added.
Built at a cost of around Rs 5.5 crores and linking NH-55 to Sarpa village, the road has also one km long drain along its side. Around 10,000 people from 8 villages around the plant including Talabahal, Ganthigadia, Sarpa, Raghunathpur, Badibahal, Khaliberena, Kankalu, Paikapurunakote, etc. will benefit from it.
Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Shri Dharmananda Senapati, Zilla Parisad Member – Zone 1, Hindol, Shri Chakradhar Parida, Sarpanch Nuagaon, Smt Debashree Behera, Sarpanch Sibapur, Shri Pankaj Pradhan, Sarpanch Kusupanga, Shri Sachidananda Behera, Sarpanch Nuahata company officials and local villagers.
In the last few months Tata Steel BSL has undertaken many initiatives for the community including constructing Model School, running mobile Primary Health Care Unit, training farmers on modern agricultural practices, supporting education infrastructure, etc and it stays committed to carry forward the journey.
