Van Mahotsav’ was celebrated at NTPC Talcher Kaniha on Saturday. On this occasion Ramesh Babu V ,Chief General Manager in his address emphasized the importance of plantation.
He stated, “Van Mahotsav festival of trees is an initiative to save environment & promote greenery through plantation. He appreciated the children taking active participation in the plantation programme, which will lead to growth in greenery.He added that NTPC Kaniha has also undertaking 50,000 plantations during 2019-20 in and around the station through Odisha Forest Development Corporation Ltd (OFDC) as sustainability development.
He added that with NTPC’s Paperless office initiative is contributing to the environment conservation. He encouraged the august gathering to plant more trees as contribution towards extending greenery. On the occasion, Mass Sapling Plantation was organized wherein 200 no.s of different fruit bearing saplings and Neem were planted in Stage II Township.
The programme was also graced by the presence of Sudip Nag ,CGM(Shared Service ,ER II), N S Rao .GM(O&M), Navin Bagai ,GM(C&M) , K K Das ,GM(FM) , Rajeev Khanna, GM (Maintenance), P. Siva Ramakrishna, GM (Operation), K S Sarma, AGM(HR) & S S Pradhan AGM(EMG), other senior officials, Smt Vani V,President,Tanvi Sangam, representative of Unions & Association, CISF personnel.
