Tata Steel BSL has launched a campaign to eradicate dengue and malaria.33,000 people from about 25 villages near the plant will benefit.Part of the campaign is to raise awareness about the causes, symptoms and treatment of diseases including mosquito fumes, anti-larva spray.The company has been campaigning for the past three years. Tata Steel BSL in Narendrapur, Dhenkanal district, has launched a three-month campaign from July 1 to eradicate dengue and malaria. The campaign, which will be held in 25 villages near the plant in Dhenkanal and Anugul districts, was officially inaugurated in the presence of Nuagaan Sarpanch Shri Chakradhar Parida, senior officer of the company CSR department Mrs. Renuka Singh and villagers of Raghunathpur village.

The villages around the plant are prone to dengue and malaria, while the onset of the season is expected to increase. With this in mind, the company’s corporate services department has launched the campaign under its health care program. Part of tothe campaign is to raise awareness about the causes, symptoms and treatment of diseases including mosquito fumes, anti-larva spray.The campaign will benefit 33,000 people from 25 villages near the plant in Dhenkanal, Anugul district. For the past three years, Tata Steel BSL has been campaigning for dengue and malaria to improve the health of nearby villagers. Last month, the company dedicated a 100-bed Covid Hospital with 10 beds in the Dhenkanal district’s Kharagpur Prasad to a 100-bed ICU.
