Angul(NewsTimePro):
During Summer delicious mangoes are found in the villages. However, the Ormas and Panchayati Raj Department, which plans to bring a variety of mangoes to rural areas, plans to reach out to the townspeople. As a result, the Anugul district administration has started marketing mangoes to farmers in the village. At the right time, Corona drowned the livelihoods of the mango farmers. Mangoes have not been sold for a long time due to market closures. Farmers are forced to pay what is sold at very low prices. This year, more mangoes came in than every year. So the farmer was happy to have more profit. However, neither the market can be sold at the right price nor the market is open to sell. So the mango farmer is sitting with his hands on his head
The climate of Anugul district is quite favorable for mango cultivation. Various types of mango are grown here in the district. Farmers produce a wide variety of mangoes from Amrapali, Dashari, Lengda, Mallika to Bombay Green and Akhuras. Demand for this specialty has grown significantly as a result of recent corporate scandals. Now is the time to produce mangoes, but at the right time, the corona cuts have hit our farmers. This is because there are no markets to sell during the harvest or traders come from outside. According to departmental records, mango is grown on more than 9000 hectares of land by more than 10,000 mango farmers in the district this year. Each year, the district produces 50,000 to 60,000 tons of mangoes. However, due to the favorable climate this year, about 20 percent of the mangoes are expected to be produced. Seeing the plight of the farmers, the Anugul district administration has come forward for their benefit. With the help of the horticulture department, the administration plans to buy or sell farmers’ mangoes again through Ormas. The administration has introduced a ‘mango on wheels’ system in the name of village mango pasara. Such a move by the administration, which will run from today until the 15th of this month, is certainly welcome. As soon as the mangoes are sold, it is estimated that the farmers will suffer millions of rupees in losses if it is not good for the farmers.
