Rudra Maharathi, son of the late BJP MLA Pradeep Maharathi, has given a ticket for the Pipili by-election. Rudra came to Naveen Niwas with his sister Pallavi today to meet BJD president Naveen Patnaik and take the ticket. Rudra will file his nomination papers on Tuesday the 30th. Rudra said he would fulfill his father’s unfulfilled dream. Rudra said he would focus on improving farmers, drinking water and irrigation.
Reacting to the disagreement over tickets for the family, Rudra said it was a ploy by the opposition. “The family is always together,” Rudra said. Similarly, Rudra’s sister Pallavi also said the family would come together and contest the election. BJD leader Devi Prasad Mishra said Rudra would win even more votes than last time. Devi Mishra, in the presence of BJD MLA Pranab Balbantrai at Naveen Niwas, received a ticket from BJD president Naveen Patnaik along with Rudra’s sister Pallavi. Rudra took the ticket and blessed the Chief Minister by stepping on his feet.
