Thousands of people from NTPC Talcher Kaniha township mainly employees ,family members and locals including CISF members took part in the return journey “bahuda yatra “ of Lord Jagannath and siblings from Mausi Maa mandir to Main Temple. The car festival concluded on Friday.
Deepshika Rath Yatra Committee , NTPC Kaniha organized the nine days festival .As per tradition “chhera pahanra” was performed by Head of the power station Ramesh Babu V by sweeping the chariot platform to commence the return journey. Thousands of devotees from NTPC Township & neighboring villagers thronged to take part in the auspicious bahuda yatra.
To celebrate the festival, cultural programmes like bhajan sandhya & cultural programmes were arranged during nine days festival. Rath yatra celebration at NTPC Kaniha is a major attraction for the inhabitants of the township as well as the local villagers.Local people from in and around the power station visit the township and participate in the pallishri mela to have blessings of the Lord Jagannath and his siblings.
