The 128th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Jayanti was celebrated at Talcher Kaniha on 14.04.2019.The event was organised at Recreation Centre ,NTPC Kaniha.
Shri Ramesh Babu ,Group General Manager(GGM) , Talcher Kaniha was the Chief Guest and Associate Prof. Manas Behera ,Rama Devi University, Bhubaneswar was the Chief Speaker of the occasion.The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of lamps and floral tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar by the dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion GGM, Shri Ramesh shared the contribution of Baba Saheb Ambedkar.He said, “Ambedkar is remembered as the father of the Indian Constitution, Ambedkar was multi-faceted, prominent economist & social reformer. He shared some of the major contributions of the Ambedkar on this occasion”.
Chief Speaker of the occasion, Prof. Behera deliberated the life of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar and appealed all to follow the footsteps of Ambedkar.” He said “the contribution of Ambedkar towards protection of Dalits is inspiring”.In his address, he spoke on life of Amdedkar through academic achievements with limited resources & challenges. Ambedkar was a social activist who worked for the eradication of caste system & social inequality.He said the best tribute to him would be the eradication of social evils for which he advocated all his life.He will be remembered as a person of immense knowledge, great nationalist & advocate of labour rights said Shri Behera
Prizes to the winners of various essay competition organised for school children and in station peripheral schools on the occasion were given by the dignitaries.
To celebrate the day ,in-house cultural programme by children comprising a variety of dances including modern & traditional dance was organised to celebrate the special day.The programme was anchored by Miss Monalisa Sahoo.
