The annual election of the Anugul Bar Association was held on Saturday. A total of seven members of the Sangh voted in favor, with Dillip Kumar Sahu as president and Somnath Raut as Secretay.Similarly, Nirod Kumar Mishra has been elected as the Vice-President, Dharmendranath Mishra as the Co-Secretary, Pradeep Kishore Sahu as the Cultural Secretary and Nilakantha Naik as the Treasurer. Dillip won the highest number of votes by defeating rivals Hingmashu Bhushan Samal and Madhusudan Kar. Fighting erupted between Nirod Kumar Mishra and Bhavani Shankar Pradhan as vice-presidents, while Somnath lost his rival Dhrubacharan Sahu as general secretary. Voting began at 9 a.m. and lasted until 3 p.m. The vote was counted from 4 p.m. Senior lawyers Pramod Kumar Pradhan and Prasanna Kumar Behera officiated the election. Ashok Kumar Patnaik, Sumanth Kumar Bishwal, Dillip Kumar Pradhan, Shivram Dehuri, Pratap Kumar Naik, Dhiren Kumar Pradhan, Satyabrata Bishwal, Hemant Kumar Sahu, Arun Kumar Nayak, Pramod Kumar Mohapatra were among the prominent contributors.
