49th National Safety Week Observed in Tata Steel BSL

Tata Steel BSL observed 49th National Safety Week from 4th to 13th March, 2020 by organizing various activities at its plant located at Narendrapur in Dhenkanal district. The theme for this year was “Enhance Safety & Health Performance by use of Advance Technology”.
Mr Abanikanta Naik, Deputy Director, Factories and Boilers, Angul Division, Mr Sudhanshu Shekhar Sahoo, Assistant Director, Factories and Boilers, Dhenkanal Zone, Government of Odisha, from Tata Steel BSL Mr Sandeep Dhir, Chief Human Resource Officer, Mr R K Sinha, Chief, Safety, Mr Asish Panda, AVP, Safety, were present at the concluding function on March 13, 2020 held at the plant premises.
During the period thousands of employees, their family members, school children and youth from neighbouring villages participated in awareness sessions and competitions organized for the occasion. Essay, poster making, slogan competition, model workplace competition among vendor partners, online and on the spot quiz competition followed by mass communication meetings, spot the hazard, Skit competitions, etc, were organized.
For family members of the employees in the housing colony quiz competition, spot the hazard in home safety and general safety, safety poster competitions were organized too.
Similarly to take the concept of safety beyond the plant boundary, community Safety awareness programme was organsied at Paika-Purunakut UP School near the plant where 150 students attended it. Besides another session was also conducted for the members of Purunakut Youth club on various safety measures to be taken at home, road, on fire and how to remain prepared for emergencies.
