Tata Steel BSL has taken initiative for training of local women on tailoring near its plant at Narendrapur in Dhenkanal. Total 60 womens from each of the villages of Kururnti and Nuagaon have joined in This Tailoring training.
Plant Vision is to make empower them and make them self-reliant and earn extra money for their family. One lady trainer has been engaged for the job. Slowly this will be expanded to other nearby villages.
Mr Sunil Rout, Head, IBMD, Tata Steel BSL and noted sports expert of the country Mr Kanisk Pandey inaugurated the centres in Nuagaon and Kurunti respectively. Mr Dibyahas Ray, Head, CSR, Mr Ashitohs Das, Ms Renuka Singh, Senior manager, CSR, Tata Steel BSL and other officers and villagers were present on the occasion.
After completion of the training the women will be guided to start their own units or they will be linked to various govt schemes where they can supply their products to government authorities. In future around 200 ladies will be covered under this progamme.
