A Fast Track Court On Friday Sentenced rape and murder Case of a 13-year-old Minor girl in Angul on January 19 on2019.Case after 6 months death penalty was awarded to accused Srinibas Dehury on Friday.The penalty was pronounced by Additional District Judge in a Fast Track Court on the basis of statements given by 36 witnesses.On January 19, a 13 year-old girl was kidnapped when she was going to her father’s farm to give him lunch. She was subsequently raped and murdered at Kangula village under Angular District. After probe, Angul District cops had arrested accused Srinibas Dehury .It is notable to mention here that the Rajya Sabha had passed the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Amendment) Bill (POCSO Bill) proposing death penalty to the culprits in the cases of sexual assault and stringent punishments like life imprisonment for other crimes against children.
The perpetrators of this crime have acted in such a manner as if there is a ‘law of jungle’ prevalent in the society,” the judge said, adding the facts in the case are many but truth is one that under a criminal conspiracy, an innocent 13-year old minor girl has been raped, and ultimately murdered.After.
